My Japanese teacher has taken another position within the school district, which involves the task of finding a new teacher. Unfortunately, the school this year seems a lot more disorganized than usual.
Timetables are still being fixed, in the fourth week of school. All of the other schools had everything fixed by the end of the first week, and yet students are routinely receiving new timetables every morning. A request that was put in last June for me to switch home rooms was ignore until parents became involved, and even then it was a struggle to get things changed. In fact, it’s easier to ignore “proper procedure” and informally ask one of the school counsellors to handle changes. I wasn’t allowed to take an Art course this year, because the school considers my schedule to be too full.
Also worth noting, is that the school still needs to hire “Teacher B” and “Teacher C”. They haven’t even posted the jobs yet, and they’ve got the task of finding a teacher for a non-standard (in Canada anyways) language.
This is the chaos that I deal with every single day.
